Estancia Municipal Police Station Bags Double Honor at Pagdayaw 2026: Anti-Drug and Firearms Campaigns Lauded

Provincial Recognition for Estancia MPS

The Estancia Municipal Police Station (MPS) is celebrating a major win after receiving two Certificates of Commendation during Pagdayaw 2026, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) awards held at Camp Sumagaysay, Sta. Barbara. 

Officer-in-Charge PLT Adrian Y. Baligod accepted the awards on behalf of the station, which was cited for:

Anti-Illegal Drug Buy-Bust Operations – For operations from July 15, 2025 to May 31, 2026 that resulted in the arrest of 16 High Value Individuals (HVIs).

Campaign Against Loose Firearms – For posting the highest accomplishment in IPPO’s “Iron-Hand Approach” against loose firearms.

Adding to the haul, PMSg Christopher Gafate of Estancia MPS was named Best in Intelligence, recognizing his critical role in intelligence-driven police operations.

Recent Operations Back the Awards

Estancia MPS has been active in IPPO’s anti-drug push. On August 10, 2025, the IPPO Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, working with Estancia MPS, arrested 2 HVIs and 2 street-level individuals in Brgy. Poblacion Zone 2, Estancia. The operation yielded about 280 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱1.9 million. 

More recently, on June 11, 2026, IPPO reported another Estancia buy-bust that netted “Joker,” a 52-year-old HVI, and “Gina,” a 31-year-old street-level individual, with 210 grams of shabu worth ₱1.428 million seized. PCOL Bayani M. Razalan, IPPO Provincial Director, credited the success to “dedication of Ilonggo cops and community cooperation”. 

What is Pagdayaw?

Pagdayaw is Hiligaynon for “giving appreciation.” IPPO launched the Pagdayaw Awards years ago to recognize outstanding police personnel and units in both operational and administrative service. Previous categories include Best in Administration, Best in Intelligence, Best in Operations, and unit awards for crime clearance efficiency.

1. Leadership Reshuffle in Iloilo

Estancia was part of a larger IPPO movement earlier this year. On January 30, 2026, IPPO appointed 13 new Chiefs of Police across the province under Memorandum Circular RPRMD-260129-82. Major Karl Jerome Tingala was designated as Chief of Police for Estancia MPS. Current OIC PLT Adrian Y. Baligod received the Pagdayaw 2026 awards on behalf of the station.

IPPO’s 2026 strategy has been visible across major events. For Dinagyang Festival 2026, PRO-6 deployed 7,579 police personnel and force multipliers. For Holy Week 2026, 3,674 personnel secured Western Visayas. Estancia’s anti-drug and loose firearm wins align with IPPO’s region-wide focus on intelligence-led operations and community partnerships. 

3. LGU-PNP Partnership

Estancia MPS credited the Local Government Unit of Estancia for “continuous support, partnership, and shared commitment toward a safer and more secure community.” This mirrors IPPO’s emphasis on coordination with LGUs, barangays, and force multipliers during operations and public events.

The awards highlight not just numbers, but months of intelligence validation, community tip-offs, and interagency work. As one SunStar report noted, Estancia cases often involve 3 months of intel buildup before arrests. 

What’s Next for Estancia MPS?

With loose firearms and illegal drugs still among Western Visayas’ top security concerns, IPPO and Estancia MPS are expected to sustain buy-bust operations and Oplan Katok initiatives. The public is urged to report suspicious activity to the nearest police station or via 911.
