Estancia MDRRMO Holds 3-Day Standard First Aid and Vehicle Extrication Training

ESTANCIA, ILOILO — The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Estancia began a 3-day Standard First Aid and Vehicle Extrication Training on Monday, June 16, 2026, at the New Liga Hall Building.

The training, held in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, runs from June 16 to 18, 2026 and aims to equip local responders and community participants with life-saving skills for emergencies.

What the Training Covers

According to MDRRMO Estancia, participants are being trained in:

Emergency First Aid — Basic life support, wound care, and CPR

Patient Care — Stabilizing and transporting injured persons

Vehicle Extrication — Safely removing victims from crashed vehicles using rescue tools

“This initiative strengthens our capability to respond effectively to accidents and disasters,” MDRRMO Estancia stated. “The goal is a safer, more resilient, and disaster-ready Estancia.”

Why This Matters for Estancia

Estancia is a coastal municipality in Northern Iloilo prone to typhoons, road accidents, and maritime incidents. Vehicle extrication skills are critical along the national highway, while first aid training helps barangay responders during the first minutes of any emergency.

The New Liga Hall Building in Poblacion, Estancia serves as the training venue for responders from various barangays.
