🇵🇭 Estancia Honors Freedom: 2026 Independence Day Celebration at the Municipal Plaza
Estancia, Iloilo — The heart of our town was filled with patriotism and unity as the Local Government Unit of Estancia led the community in marking the 128th Philippine Independence Day on June 12, 2026, held at the Estancia Municipal Plaza.
Under the leadership of Mayor Bianca Requinto‑Espinosa, together with Vice Mayor, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, department heads, and respected local and community leaders, the gathering brought together government employees, students, uniformed personnel, and Estanciahanons from all sectors to pay tribute to the hard‑won freedom of our nation.
🎊 A Solemn and Meaningful Commemoration
The program began with the solemn Raising of the Philippine Flag, followed by the singing of the Lupang Hinirang and a prayer. This was followed by the reading of the official Independence Day Proclamation, recalling the courage and sacrifices of our forefathers who fought for our liberty.
In her address, Mayor Bianca Requinto‑Espinosa shared that true independence means more than just freedom from foreign rule — it is also the freedom to build a life of dignity, opportunity, and peace for every resident.
“Independence is both a gift and a duty. As we honor our history, let us renew our commitment to work hand‑in‑hand toward a progressive, orderly, and prosperous Estancia where no one is left behind,” she emphasized.
🤝 Unity in Service
The presence of local officials, barangay leaders, and representatives from various community groups highlighted the strong spirit of cooperation in Estancia. The simple but dignified program focused on reflection, gratitude, and reaffirming the shared responsibility to uphold the values of freedom, justice, and good governance.
💡 A Reminder for Every Estanciahanon
The occasion served as a meaningful reminder: freedom empowers us to dream, but it also calls us to contribute. Whether as fisherfolk, farmers, workers, parents, or youth — each citizen has a role to play in protecting our sovereignty and building a better future.
The event concluded with a collective pledge to continue supporting the vision of “Paglaum kag Progreso” — Hope and Progress for Estancia, guided by the leadership of Mayor Bianca Requinto‑Espinosa and the entire local government.
